Hi Knitting Guy,
I'm a freelance journalist in the UK looking at how yarn bombing has impacted neighbourhoods. Would you be willing to talk over email about your experience in San Diego? I'd really love to hear from you,
Where is this one??
I thought they were all taken down earlier this year! I live near the one that was up at Petit and Hathaway but I think that has been long gone.. :(
this is an old post
This is http://www.stopsignflower.com/flowers/valejo-ave-and-valejo-ct which eventually came down.
However, I am aware of at least three that are still up, and I hear rumors of as many more.
leaves
could you ask the knitter what wire they used for the leaves to keep them up so well??
the wire
The wire in the leaves (and attached to the pole) is THHN solid 10ga copper wire. It comes in a few colors, I chose green.
You can get it by the foot at ace or home depot, and I use 4 - 5 feet per
pole.
Send me a picture when you put one up!
